About the Role:

On behalf of our client, the Business Services Organisation (BSO) Procurement & Logistics Service, MPA Recruitment is seeking to appoint a Warehouse / Transport Operative to join the Community Wheelchair Service (CWS) team in Lisburn.

This is a varied role combining warehouse, equipment handling and delivery duties, supporting the safe and efficient provision of community equipment to clients across the region.

The successful candidate will work as part of a busy team, helping to receive, clean, prepare, store, pick, deliver and collect community equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse & Stock Duties

  • Receive, check, store, pick and dispatch stock and community equipment.
  • Clean, inspect, assemble and dismantle returned community equipment in line with procedures.
  • Identify equipment suitable for re-issue, repair or disposal.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and use barcode scanning systems.
  • Assist with stock checks, stock rotation and emergency equipment requests.
  • Ensure warehouse areas are clean, tidy and free from hazards.

 

Transport & Delivery

  • Drive allocated vehicles safely and lawfully in accordance with your driving licence.
  • Deliver, assemble, demonstrate, collect and dismantle community wheelchairs and other equipment.
  • Assist clients with loading and unloading equipment from private vehicles.
  • Operate vehicle lifts and ramps as required.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle and journey records and report any vehicle defects.
  • Carry out routine vehicle checks and ensure vehicles are kept clean and tidy.

 

Customer & Team Support

  • Provide a friendly and professional service to clients, Trust staff and members of the public.
  • Obtain delivery/collection signatures and maintain accurate records.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the warehouse and wider logistics service.
  • Follow all Health & Safety, infection control and information management procedures.

 

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Criteria:

  • 2 years' relevant experience in a procurement/logistics environment

OR

  • 3 GCSEs or equivalent (Grades A–C), including English Language and Mathematics*, plus at least 1 year's procurement/logistics experience.
  • Hold a full Category B driving licence and be able to drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work to set deadlines and meet service requirements.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A flexible and practical approach to work.

Desirable:

  • Previous warehouse, logistics or transport experience.
  • Experience working with community equipment or similar equipment.
  • Forklift licence, particularly counterbalance and/or reach truck.

Additional Information:

  • Training will be provided for the role.
  • Overtime may be available during busy periods.
  • ASAP start available once registration and checks are completed.
  • Internal agency checks will be completed.
  • Successful applicants may be required to complete relevant health and safety training.
