Quantity Surveyor
Quantity Surveyor – Facilities Management
A growing organisation is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join its Facilities Management team.
This is a varied commercial role supporting the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance works. You’ll be responsible for measuring works, preparing and reviewing costs, assessing contractor claims and managing variations across term service contracts.
It’s a great opportunity for someone with at least one year’s Quantity Surveying or commercial experience who is looking to develop their career in a busy and varied environment.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll take ownership of a varied commercial workload, including:
- Measuring works on site and establishing accurate scopes and quantities.
- Preparing and assessing costings, estimates and valuations.
- Reviewing contractor applications and claims, ensuring costs are properly supported.
- Managing variations across planned and reactive maintenance works.
- Monitoring contract costs and commercial performance.
- Working closely with contractors, clients and operational teams to resolve commercial issues.
- Supporting valuations, final accounts and wider contract administration.
- Challenging costs where required and ensuring works represent appropriate commercial value.
- Using commercial and CAFM systems to maintain accurate records and support effective contract management.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, confident and hands-on.
You'll ideally have:
- At least 1 year's experience in Quantity Surveying or a commercial role.
- A solid understanding of measurement, cost assessment and claims evaluation.
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- The confidence to work with contractors and challenge costs when necessary.
- A practical, organised approach and the ability to manage competing priorities.
It Would Be Great If You Also Have:
- Experience in Facilities Management or maintenance contracts.
- Experience working with term service contracts.
- Knowledge of PSA Schedule of Rates (SoR) or similar pricing mechanisms.
- Experience using a CAFM system.
- Relevant Quantity Surveying or commercial qualifications.
Why This Role?
Because you'll have the opportunity to do more than simply manage numbers.
You'll be part of a growing team where your commercial input will directly support the successful delivery of maintenance services. You'll gain exposure to a diverse range of works, develop your contract management experience and work alongside people who understand the importance of getting things right.
Whether you're looking to take the next step in your Quantity Surveying career or you're ready for a role with more responsibility, variety and opportunity, this could be the move you've been waiting for.
Ready for your next challenge?
If you're commercially driven, detail-focused and want to build your career within a growing Facilities Management environment, we'd love to hear from you.
