Job Role: Production Manager

MPA are currently recruiting for a Production Manager for our new Belfast based client. As the successful candidate, your role will be reporting directly to the Area Operations Manager, you will lead to ensure we deliver the right quantity and quality of service throughout all departments.

This role is high profile, in a challenging area, with significant opportunities. This is a diverse and fast-paced role where no two days will be the same. It provides a fantastic opportunity to think differently about how we ensure reliability and resilience of our assets, whilst developing our people and driving a sustainable operating model.

Location - Belfast

Hours of Work -37.5 Hours Per Week (Mon- Fri)

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

The post holder will be required to:

  • The ideal candidate will have a technical qualification to a degree level (Chemical / Mechanical Engineering, Food Processing/Engineering or equivalent) and should ideally have proficient mechanical skills to address day to day issues.
  • Must have a strong understanding of the end-to-end manufacturing process.
  • Has knowledge and understanding of national Safety and Environmental legislation and company policy, systems, and practice relevant to the factory and the legal responsibility placed upon individuals.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Production management: 2 years (preferred)

  • Plastics or Steel manufacturing: 1 year (desirable)
  • At least 2 years shift management experience gained from within a construction environment

  • A third level qualification in a relevant discipline would be desirable

  • Sound practical knowledge of a production environment

  • Proven experience of performance management of a team

  • Hands on approach to solving problems is essential

  • Experience at suggesting change initiatives and getting results

  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal

  • IT experience is essential including word, excel and outlook

  • Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to stay calm and focused in difficult situations

  • Able to work autonomously and take direction and feedback

  • Flexible ‘can do’ attitude with a confident, friendly, and approachable manner

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work to strict deadlines

  • Ability to be highly flexible with regards working hours which involves evening and weekend work
