HR Advisor – Band 5

Job description

The Equality Unit provides a range of equality and human rights services to the client and other affiliates.

The postholder will work in partnership with client organisations to oversee the continued review and implementation of their equality schemes, and to provide professional support and guidance with regards to Equality Screening and Equality Impact Assessments (Equality Proofing).

Hours of Work – 37.5 Hours Per Week (Mon- Fri) Job share and reduced hours will be available.


KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Employees of the client will be required to promote and support the mission and vision of the service for which they are responsible and:
-      At all times provide a caring service and to treat those with whom they come into contact in a courteous and respectful manner.
-      Demonstrate their commitment by the efficient completion of all tasks allocated to them.
-      Comply with the client’s No Smoking Policy.
-      Carry out their duties and responsibilities in compliance with health and safety policy and statutory regulations.
-      Support the client in advancing its compliance with Risk Management Controls Assurance Standards and to contribute to improving governance across the organisation.
-      Ensure the on-going confidence of the public in service provision.
-      Support the client in complying with its obligations under Human Rights legislation.
-      Comply with the HPSS/HSC and relevant professional codes of conduct.


Experience and Qualifications
1)    Degree or recognised Professional Qualification
AND
At least two year’s relevant experience to include
·        designing, delivering and reviewing training
·        paper and report writing
·        collecting, analysing and interpreting data (quantitative and qualitative) from a range of sources
·        providing expert advice on policy- and decision-making and review
·        coordinating meetings or events involving a range of individuals
·        communication
                                         i.   communicating complex information effectively
                                        ii.   communicating with a range of stakeholders
OR
Have worked for at least 5 years in an office environment with relevant experience as listed above.
Demonstrate a track record of employing effective influencing and facilitation skills to effect change.
Demonstrate a track record of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with team members and internal and external partners.
Demonstrate a track record of communicating complex information effectively to varying sizes of audience.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Experience of using the Microsoft Office software package.
