Permanent | Full-Time (36 Hours) & Part-Time (24 Hours) Available
Salary: £25,992 - £26,824 per annum (£13.47 - £13.94 per hour)
MPA Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with Apex Housing, a leading provider of high-quality care and support services, to recruit Permanent Residential Workers for their specialist service at Belmont Cottages, Derry/Londonderry.

The Role
As a Residential Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care while promoting dignity, independence, wellbeing and inclusion for all residents. Working across four cottages, you will support individuals with varying needs and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, resident-focused care while maintaining dignity, privacy and respect at all times.
- Support adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in achieving positive outcomes and maximising independence.
- Promote the rights, choices and entitlements of service users, responding effectively to individual needs.
- Manage and respond appropriately to incidents involving adults with complex needs.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation relating to resident support plans is completed and regularly reviewed.
- Conduct Health and Safety audits and ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure services are delivered in line with RQIA standards and Apex Housing policies and procedures.
- Promote the emotional wellbeing, self-esteem and overall happiness of residents.
- Support and accompany residents to social activities, recreational outings and appointments.
- Participate in house visits alongside management when required.
- Attend fundraising committee meetings and support community engagement initiatives.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, multidisciplinary teams, colleagues and management.
- Act as a Shift Leader, coordinating workloads, analysing staffing levels and delegating responsibilities appropriately.
- Support the management and development of staff within the service, working closely with the Manager to identify objectives and performance targets.
Essential Criteria
Option 1
- QCF/NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 1 year's experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour within a community or residential setting.
- Previous administration experience.
- Currently registered with NISCC, or willing to achieve registration within six months of commencing employment.
OR Option 2
- Minimum of 2 years' experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour within a community or residential setting.
- Previous administration experience.
- Currently registered with NISCC, or willing to achieve registration within six months of commencing employment.
In Addition
Applicants must demonstrate:
- Previous supervisory responsibility within a care setting.
- Experience using IT systems and providing administrative support.
- Experience preparing regulatory reports, scheme reports and resident documentation.
