The Role
As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of residents by delivering high-quality, person-centred care within a warm, professional and nurturing environment.
You will support residents with their daily living activities while promoting independence, comfort, dignity and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate and person-centred care to residents.
- Assist with personal care including washing, dressing, toileting and eating.
- Promote and maintain residents' dignity, privacy and independence.
- Monitor residents' wellbeing and report any changes in health or behaviour.
- Report accidents, incidents and concerns appropriately to senior staff.
- Encourage social interaction, engagement and meaningful activities.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
- Accompany residents to appointments and outings when required.
- Ensure residents are comfortable, clean and well-presented at all times.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment within the home.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must have either:
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
OR
- A minimum of 6 months' experience caring for vulnerable adults within a formal care setting
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work towards a QCF Level 2 qualification if not already achieved.
- Current NISCC registration or willingness to register within six months of employment.
