MPA has been appointed by one of the fastest growing and leading Digital Health organisations in Canada to source a Engineering Manager to join their growing team in Toronto. This role also has remote options.

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our clients Care Team. This team is responsible for connecting their members with care support and services, including the ability to chat directly with health professionals through their platform. The team mandate also includes tooling for their internal team of nurses and care navigators, to help them support their members efficiently and effectively. You’ll have the opportunity to advance their mission of empowering people to live healthier and happier lives every day.
Our clients mobile, web, and backend developers work together in small cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with product managers and UX designers to rapidly deliver high-quality features to our members. As a leader, you will be held accountable for the success of your team's work, including product delivery, as well as the performance and growth of individuals on your team.
In this role, you will:
Facilitate good architecture and solutions based on modern software development patterns and practices
Provide technical leadership for the team, including pairing with team members on development tasks and code reviews at times
Manage the day-to-day activities of a software engineering team by providing coaching, leadership, and guidance
Motivate and encourage the engineering team by ensuring goals are properly defined and achieved
Assist in defining and continually enhancing processes and practices for our growing team and harness the power of agile methodologies
Build clean and effective software solutions that meet functionality, performance, scalability and reliability expectations with an efficiently operating team
About You:
You have at least three years of experience leading software engineering teams and 6+ years experience building scalable SaaS solutions with a displayed passion for mentorship, project management, and process improvement
You have robust experience in Frontend and/or Mobile application development
You have strong cross-functional engagement / collaborative experience working with Product Designers
You strive to understand the needs of the engineers, the platform, and the customer
You are comfortable planning and executing projects from idea to completion
You understand how to plan, build, test, and maintain complex software applications
You have an appreciation for pragmatism and simplicity in code
You are focused on results, including communicating and solving problems as they arrive
