MPA Recruitment has been appointed by a leading provider of mental health and wellbeing services to source an Educational Psychologist to join their Child and Adolescent Mental Health team in Abu Dhabi. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team taking the lead in transforming mental health in the UAE as an outpatient based mental health service.
This is an internationally diverse team of professionals with the aim of delivering high quality assessments, treatment, advice, training and consultation across the range of mental health problems. You will be working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary colleagues, other professionals, families and patients. The service aims to provide a supportive environment using evidence-based approaches and will offer training and development to professionals.
You will have experience in providing schools and parents with consultations, individual supports and counselling/therapeutic interventions; and delivering workshops to colleagues, parents, schools and service users. You will have experience of receiving clinical supervision across a range of client needs and experience of psychological assessment and treatment of clients with a range of psychological needs of a complex nature.
You will be skilled working with children who present with developmental disabilities, behavioural challenges, emotional difficulties, sensory sensitivities, learning needs, mental health concerns, socialisation challenges, together with physical and medical needs, and often speech and language difficulties.
You will hold a Doctorate or MSc in Educational Psychology or equivalent that has been accepted by the local Ministry of Health for purposes of professional registration. You will have been qualified and practising as an educational psychologist for two years and will be registered with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist (UK) or relevant organisation in home country.
