Job Description:

MPA Armagh is delighted to partner with a respected Public Sector client to recruit a Band 3 Cook. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and passionate catering professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality meals within a structured, fast-paced kitchen environment. The successful candidate will bring proven experience in large-scale food preparation, a strong knowledge of food safety standards, and a collaborative approach to kitchen operations.

Working Hours

  • 37.5 hpw Working every other weekend. Shifts are 9.15-5.15,6.30-2.30 &10.30-6.30.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present a wide range of dishes in line with agreed menus, recipes, and quality standards.
  • Support daily meal preparation, ensuring ingredients are fresh, correctly stored, and readily available.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment in full compliance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service delivery.
  • Monitor food quality throughout preparation and service, making adjustments to maintain consistency and excellence.

Essential Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Food Preparation & Cooking (or equivalent) plus a minimum of 2 years’ experience in large-scale catering
  • NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation & Cooking (or equivalent) plus a minimum of 3 years’ experience in large-scale catering
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in large-scale catering environments.
