MPA Recruitment has been appointed by the NHS in Northern Ireland to source a Consultant Cellular Pathologist to join their team in the Western Health and Social Care Trust.

As the Consultant Cellular Pathologist you will provide a professional cellular pathology service to include diagnostic microscopy, surgical dissection and frozen section reporting; provide comprehensive written diagnostic reports on specimens; be available for direct consultation on cases with clinical colleagues; support multidisciplinary meetings relevant to their areas of diagnostic interest; be responsible for carrying out any work related to and reasonably incidental to the duties set out in their job plan; undertake the professional supervision, management and training of both trainee medical staff and biomedical scientists; participate in the consultant appraisal and revalidation process; support and contribute as a recognised clinical teacher to 3rd year medical undergraduate teaching; participate in departmental education meetings, involving biomedical scientists; participate in relevant quality assessment and proficiency schemes; share in administrative and management and be conversant with the ISO15189:2012 standards and participate in the Clinical and Research Governance Framework of the Western HSC Trust.

The qualify for this post, you will need:

  • Full registration with GMC, London or eligible for full GMC Registration.
  • A Certificate of Completed Specialist Training (CCT)
  • Current full driving license and access to a car.
