Job Role: Welders / Fabricators / Fitters
MPA are currently recruiting for various Tradespersons for our new client, a leading manufacturing company based in Belfast.
Our client is seeking experienced Welders / Fabricators / Fitters to join their expanding team. This fantastic prospect offers a permanent contract from day one along with the opportunity of working for one of the leading employers in the area.
Location - Belfast
Hours of Work -37.5 Hours Per Week (Mon- Fri)
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- The post holder will be required to:
- MIG/MAG Welding experience.
- Grinding and buffing metal.
- Use of overhead cranes.
- Experience of sub assembly
- Complete tasks in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all health and safety requirements
- Complete welding tasks as and when required in a reasonable timescale
- Follow good housekeeping practises to ensure your working area is kept clean and tidy
- To ensure effective communication in a professional manner, with your Line Manager and colleagues.
- Pro-active and self-motivated
- Providing an efficient installation service for ply and plastic linings.
- Fitting of roof bars, security locks, etc.
- Liaising with office-based personnel with regards to new assignments
- Accurate information must be logged, ensuring timely delivery and a first-class service
- Working alongside existing senior personnel to gain further understanding of technical installations
- Completion of all appropriate paperwork.
Experience and Qualifications
- Fabricating: 1 year (required)
- Plastics or Steel manufacturing: 1 year (desirable)
- A minimum NVQ level 1 in Performing Manufacturing Operations
- You will be fully qualified to City and Guilds or equivalent in Fabrication and Welding Parts 1&2
- and/or City and Guilds or equivalent in Structural and Thick plate Fabrication and Welding.
- Or Time-served recognised apprenticeship or equivalent
- You’ll understand how to work from and read technical drawings.
- Minimum 2 years of production experience
- To carry out the role safely and effectively
- A counterbalance forklift license and an ability to use overhead cranes would be desirable.
