Job Role: Welders / Fabricators / Fitters

MPA are currently recruiting for various Tradespersons for our new client, a leading manufacturing company based in Belfast.

Our client is seeking experienced Welders / Fabricators / Fitters to join their expanding team. This fantastic prospect offers a permanent contract from day one along with the opportunity of working for one of the leading employers in the area.

Location - Belfast

Hours of Work -37.5 Hours Per Week (Mon- Fri)

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The post holder will be required to:
  • MIG/MAG Welding experience.
  • Grinding and buffing metal.
  • Use of overhead cranes.
  • Experience of sub assembly
  • Complete tasks in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all health and safety requirements
  • Complete welding tasks as and when required in a reasonable timescale
  • Follow good housekeeping practises to ensure your working area is kept clean and tidy
  • To ensure effective communication in a professional manner, with your Line Manager and colleagues.
  • Pro-active and self-motivated
  • Providing an efficient installation service for ply and plastic linings.
  • Fitting of roof bars, security locks, etc.
  • Liaising with office-based personnel with regards to new assignments
  • Accurate information must be logged, ensuring timely delivery and a first-class service
  • Working alongside existing senior personnel to gain further understanding of technical installations
  • Completion of all appropriate paperwork.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Fabricating: 1 year (required)
  • Plastics or Steel manufacturing: 1 year (desirable)
  • A minimum NVQ level 1 in Performing Manufacturing Operations
  • You will be fully qualified to City and Guilds or equivalent in Fabrication and Welding Parts 1&2
  • and/or City and Guilds or equivalent in Structural and Thick plate Fabrication and Welding.
  • Or Time-served recognised apprenticeship or equivalent
  • You’ll understand how to work from and read technical drawings.
  • Minimum 2 years of production experience
  • To carry out the role safely and effectively
  • A counterbalance forklift license and an ability to use overhead cranes would be desirable.
