Anderson McQue has been appointed by a successful and growing international energy business to source a Trainee Energy Trader to join their team in Dublin. The business has a presence across Europe and Asia and specialise in the international trade of energy commodities with clients ranging from utilities and generators to trading houses and energy exchanges.
Your role will involve you becoming a qualified Energy Trader where you will join a 24/7 trading desk. This will involve you managing a portfolio of renewable assets and other trading activities in the wholesale energy market. You will also develop trading strategies and tools to support decision making and trade execution whilst further identifying and capturing real-time market opportunities in the Irish, UK and European electricity markets
You will work closely with the expert trading team which utilises a bespoke trading platform to provide essential trading services to wind farms, solar farms, and batteries. You will join an illustrious academy programme which will enable you to successfully develop in the business.
To be suitable for this role, experience in energy markets or energy trading is not required – all training and information will be provided. You should have a relevant primary degree (for example, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Science, Mathematics or similar; have a strong knowledge of Excel and a basic knowledge of programming and databases; be diligent with an attention to detail and be flexible and eager to learn.
