Sr Developer (Solution Lead)

MPA Recruitment have partnered with a growing Canadian technology consultancy, to recruit a Cloud Full Stack Developer. This is an opportunity to join a highly technical, AI-first engineering team that delivers innovative cloud-native solutions for enterprise clients across North America.

This role is ideal for an experienced software engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working directly with clients, and leveraging modern AI tools to accelerate software delivery.

The Opportunity

As a Solution Lead, you'll act as the technical leader on client engagements, helping define architecture, make critical design decisions, and ensure successful project delivery. While you'll provide technical direction and mentorship to other engineers, this is not a people management role. We are looking for someone who still enjoys writing code, solving difficult problems, and staying close to the technology.

You'll work directly with clients, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions while helping development teams execute against a clear architectural vision.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the design and architecture of cloud-native software solutions
• Remain hands-on with development, contributing code and supporting delivery teams
• Act as the technical lead on client projects, providing guidance throughout the software development lifecycle
• Collaborate directly with clients to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Mentor and coach developers, helping elevate engineering standards and best practices
• Make key technical decisions and communicate trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Drive modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development and cloud-native architecture
• Support solution delivery across AWS, Azure and GCP environments
• Contribute to technical strategy, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• Proven experience leading technical design and solution architecture for complex applications
• Strong hands-on development background with modern programming languages such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, or similar
• Experience building and deploying applications in AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, scalability, and cloud-native development
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and modern DevOps practices
• Ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership without stepping away from coding
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage directly with clients and executive stakeholders
• Passion for learning new technologies and leveraging AI tools to improve software delivery
• Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or holder of a valid unrestricted Canadian work permit
