MPA has been exclusively retained by a leading global engineering firm who boast an impressive track record having worked on some of the worlds most notable engineering projects. We are recruiting a Sr Structural Engineer to join their team in Toronto. This Structural Engineer will lead their Structural team while being both hands on technically and managing projects. Great opportunity to join a global engineering consultancy as they build out their Canadian team.
What you’ll do
Design to provide technical expertise and guidance for structural designs.
Design civil infrastructure in transit environments, applying Canadian standards and Metrolinx requirements.
Design bridges according to AREMA standards and ensure compliance with CSA S6.19 for bridge loading, steel, and concrete design.
Coordinate and deliver rail and civil engineering projects, collaborating with diverse teams.
Utilize software for structural analysis and modeling.
Produce design deliverables, supervise engineers and BIM/CAD technicians.
Work across geotechnical and structural disciplines to integrate expertise.
Ensure project delivery adheres to technical standards, schedules, and budgets.
Provide technical support, conduct analysis, and offer solutions for structural integrity.
Stay updated with industry trends, codes, and standards.
Uphold safety regulations, identify and mitigate risks.
Foster innovation and continuous improvement.
What you need
Minimum of eight years’ experience in civil engineering design
Minimum of five years’ experience in the design of civils infrastructure in a transit environment including the application of Canadian standards where appropriate, element design and detailing in a Metrolinx environment
Minimum of three years’ experience in the design of bridges (including use of AREMA standards)
Experience of co-ordinating and delivering designs for rail and broad civil engineering projects
Experience of bridge loading to AREMA and CSA S6.19
Experience of steel and concrete design to CSA S6.19
Experience in computer software for the analysis of structures
Production of design deliverables – packages of drawings, specifications, etc. and supervision of engineers and BIM/CAD technicians
Professional Engineer (PEng) licence in Ontario
