MPA is delighted to be working with our client who is Northern Ireland’s leading independent publishing, exhibition, and events company, to recruit a Sales Manager based in the Belfast area.

Established in 1940 Licensed & Catering News is the business magazine for Northern Ireland Hospitality Industry and the authoritative voice of the trade.

In addition to the monthly digital magazine LCN as it is affectionately known to the trade has a weekly e-news letter (Delicious) and extensive social and online assets with a reach of 105,000 readers monthly.

In addition, the LCN Awards are the leading annual awards event for the pub, restaurant, hotel, and tourism industry.

This is an exciting hands-on position with loads of room to grow and develop.

This is a top-drawer position and offers excellent renumeration and benefits package, hybrid working and excellent career development.

Location: Belfast

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week with a hybrid working option also available.

Salary: - Excellent package of £34K basic salary plus £16K per annum bonus opportunities and excellent career prospects.

Purpose of job:

•To be responsible for the annual advertising sales and sponsorship budget

•Generating digital, print and sponsorship revenues for the LCN Brand.

•To achieve agreed sales targets

•To identify and develop new business from the core target market as well as new business sectors.

•To build relationships and develop existing client base.

•To prepare high quality proposals and client correspondence

•Be a create thinker and be able to generate new business ideas.

•To develop and deliver quality presentations to clients.

•To contribute to the strategic development of the Penton Media Group business

•To have a finger on the pulse of developments in media and commercial advertising sectors plus the wider business marketplace.

•To coach, train, encourage and motivate other members of the sales team.

Experience Required:

•Minimum of 3 years’ experience in media sales or a similar direct sales environment.

•Proven track record of success in a competitive sales environment

•Proven experience of prospecting and delivering new business.

•Good reporting and presentation skills.

The successful candidate will be target driven, a self-starter, proactive, creative, good at building relationships and passionate about selling media for a leading brand with a proven track record of success over 84 years.

Development and progression within the company is a realistic goal within a short period of time for the successful candidate.
