Job Role: Project Worker

We are pleased to be recruiting to be recruiting a Project worker for our client for their therapeutic project based in Belfast

The successful candidate will assist in the maintenance of a therapeutic project in accordance with the professional and administrative policies, taking special responsibility for allocated clients.

The project aims to provide a participative environment enabling the client to gain increasing independence and to develop their full potential.

Working hours and rate of Pay:

37.5 hours per week, details to be agreed according to the needs of the project/rota to provide full cover. Your sleep-in overnight is in addition to your 37.5 hours per week.

Salary:

£20,043 per annum subject to annual increments to scale maximum following confirmation of post and a yearly cost of living review in April.

What the role entails:

  • Contributing with the staff team the development of and participating in a programme of rehabilitative and supportive care, which furthers the aims and objectives of the project and organisation.
  • Contributing to a system that enables and empowers each client to contribute to
  • The project and that promotes his/her capacity for independence within and outside it.
  • With the staff team, participate in monitoring, evaluating and developing the project, involving clients in the process.
  • Taking responsibility for administration in at least one management area (e.g. finance, maintenance, referrals, domestic).
  • Promoting the aims and objectives of Threshold through liaison with statutory and voluntary agencies and through public relations as requested by line management.
  • Helping in developing and maintaining good working relationships with relevant agencies and informing referral agencies of placement opportunities.
  • Helping to develop close links in the local community and to promote greater understanding of the nature of mental health problems.

Essential Criteria:

  • A Psychiatric Nursing Qualification as recognised by The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or a Social Care Qualification as recognised by the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) i.e. Social Work Qualified or QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care or an Allied Health Professional as recognised by the Health Professional Council (HPC) working in Mental Health i.e. Art Therapist or Occupational Therapist or Psychology Degree (as recognised by the British Psychology Society, BPS) (on the condition that you complete your QCF 3 in Health & Social Care within the agreed timescale, between 12-18 months)

Please note you will only be confirmed in post once you have obtained this qualification or relevant qualification and only as defined in the National Qualification Framework.

The applicant must also be registered or have completed registration with either of the 3 regulated bodies before commencing employment.

  • 6 months experience working with people with severe and enduring mental illness or 6 months experience working with people with a learning disability
  • 6 months residential work experience
  • Experience of Lone Working
