Key Responsibilities

As Production Manager, you will oversee the full production function, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing day-to-day production activities to ensure output, quality, and efficiency targets are consistently achieved.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing production teams while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Driving lean manufacturing initiatives, focusing on waste reduction, process optimisation, and cost efficiency.
  • Managing production planning and scheduling to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.
  • Monitoring KPIs and operational performance metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards and promoting a strong safety culture across the site.
  • Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to resolve issues and improve operational performance.
  • Managing production budgets, resources, and staffing levels to maximise efficiency.
  • Maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to resolve production challenges.
  • Supporting new product introductions and ensuring seamless integration into manufacturing processes.
  • Championing continuous improvement projects and encouraging innovation across the production function.
  • Providing regular performance updates and strategic recommendations to senior management.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and inspire teams.
  • A demonstrated track record of improving productivity, quality, and operational performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
