Nurse Manager – Nursing Home

Location: Dundonald, Belfast
Working hours: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm

Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per annum (depending on experience)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and passionate Nurse Manager to join a well-established nursing home in the Dundonald area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated nursing professional with strong leadership skills to take on a rewarding management role, leading a committed team and ensuring residents receive the highest standards of person-centred care.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining excellent clinical standards, supporting staff development and creating a positive, welcoming environment for both residents and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support nursing and care staff, promoting a positive and collaborative team culture.
• Oversee the delivery of high-quality, safe and person-centred nursing care.
• Ensure compliance with RQIA standards, relevant legislation and NMC requirements.
• Manage clinical governance, care planning, medication management and risk assessments.
• Oversee staff supervision, training, development and staffing arrangements.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and healthcare professionals.
• Drive continuous improvement and maintain excellent standards of care throughout the home.

Essential Criteria

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Current NMC registration as a first-level nurse (Part 1).
• A minimum of 5 years' post-qualification nursing experience, including at least 2 years in a similar care setting within the last 5 years.
• At least 2 years' experience within the last 5 years providing nursing care to the main resident group in a similar care setting.
• A recognised management qualification OR at least 2 years' relevant managerial experience at Band 6 level (or suitable equivalent) within the last 5 years.
• Strong knowledge of nursing home regulations, RQIA standards and clinical governance.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
