Job description
MPA are currently recruiting a Band 6 Occupational Therapists to join our team in the Coleraine area. This position will have an immediate start available. The post holder will work as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary Team and ensure a high quality, responsive occupational therapy service for patients presenting with a range of health conditions.
Role Responsibilities
· Manage a defined caseload of patients and be responsible for prioritising workload in line with agreed Trust priorities, policies and procedures.
· Undertake comprehensive, client centred occupational therapy assessment and treatment of patients presenting with a range of mental health conditions on occasions clients may also have physical health difficulties and/or learning disabilities
· Select, apply and interpret of a range of standardised and non-standardised assessments to identify deficits in functional performance.
· Appropriately select and use a range of treatment media, which reflects the outcome of assessments and identified goals.
· Offer professional support and advice to clients/carers in relation to the occupational therapy intervention and general management of their condition.
Essential Criteria
Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
Full Access NI check
Up to date registration with the HCPC
Assurance that they are fit for post (health assessment)
2 years post qualifying experience with 6 months experience in the Community setting working with adults
Post qualifying paid experience of working with service users with a diagnosis of a Learning Disability is preferable but not essential.
Full UK driving license with access to a car on appointment with suitable business insurance
Desirable Criteria
· 6 Months post qualifying experience in Learning Disability is desirable but not essential.
