MPA Recruitment is currently recruiting Temporary Kitchen Assistants on behalf of our clients across the Derry/Londonderry area. Opportunities are available within a variety of care settings, including nursing homes and Housing with Care schemes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of nutritious meals.
• Support the catering team in food preparation and kitchen duties.
• Prepare dining areas, tables, and meal trays for service.
• Serve meals to residents in a professional and courteous manner.
• Receive and store food deliveries appropriately.
• Clear tables and dining areas following meal services.
• Carry out routine cleaning of kitchen and dining areas, including the use of industrial cleaning equipment.
• Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene, Environmental Health, and Health & Safety regulations at all times.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen environment.
• Support senior kitchen staff and, where required, assist with additional responsibilities during periods of leave or absence.

Essential Criteria

• Minimum of 3 months' previous experience within a professional catering, kitchen, or food service environment.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Access NI check
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, and visitors.
• Ability to work using your own initiative.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• A positive and caring approach when interacting with residents.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
