FinOps Engineer
Canada/US (Remote)

MPA is currently recruiting a FinOps Engineer for a hyper growth e-commerce technology company to join their team. This role also has remote options. Our client is building the infrastructure to make an Amazon Prime-like experience for all e-commerce. They have raised a total of $500 million in funding and have seen annual revenue increase by 600% year on year.
Their Mission:
Large marketplaces like Amazon have trained us to expect products delivered to our doorsteps within 1-2 days at no extra cost.As a result, millions of sellers on other marketplaces are falling behind, unable to cost-effectively deliver products to their customers.Our mission is to transform the $8-12T fragmented and outdated logistics industry, and build an intelligent, asset-lite network that enables any online seller to offer fast, affordable fulfillment.
What You’ll Do:
· Develop and execute a strategy for tagging and analyzing our cloud resources.
· You’ll be responsible for identifying inefficiencies and carrying out the changes to address them.
· Develop a deep understanding of their systems across all areas and work with the engineering team to help understand, plan, and manage their costs
What We’re Looking For:
· BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
· 4+ years of experience in a related role.
· Insatiable Curiosity, Undying Passion and Ownership to take on hard real world problems.
· Strong understanding of AWS and its primary services
· Experience tagging resources and using reserved instances or savings plans to manage AWS costs
· Experience modifying large-scale production systems through continuous integration and continuous delivery
· Proven track record managing AWS cloud costs
· Experience leading programs and driving technical decisions that impact multiple teams
Bonus Points For:
· Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform
· Experience with other cloud services we use, such as Snowflake, Databricks, and Algolia
· Experience with observability tools, such as Datadog or New Relic
Their Stack:
· Independent Service Oriented Architectures with services composed of:
· Java, Spring and MySQL RDS.
· Node, Typescript, MySQL RDS.
· React and Redux for UI.
· DynamoDB for integration services.
· SQS for queuing.
· We run on AWS.
