MPA are currently recruiting for a Band 7 Echocardiographer on behalf of our client based in Coleraine area. The successful candidate will perform and report on adult Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE) examinations, while also assisting with Transoesophageal Echocardiography (TOE) and Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography (DSE). The post-holder will be expected to participate in the 7-day working rota at the Antrim site and work across Northern Trust locations as required. Rates of pay will be in line with current HSCNI Agenda for Change Band 7 rates.

Job Description:

• Provide clinical/factual reports for all cardiac physiology investigations for which post-holder is appropriately accredited with complete autonomy.
• Map, analyse and redesign intra-departmental workflows and processes to optimise services to patients both at in-patient and out-patient level.
• Manage communication and foster good working relationships between Cardio-physiologists, Nurses, Cardiologists and other staff.
• Assist the Clinical Physiology Services Management Team in the future development of Cardiac Physiology Services and advise on Business cases when required.
• Provide input during planning for work to upgrade the Department’s facilities to ensure that the environment is suitable for Cardiac Clinical Physiology Services.
• To undertake other Cardiac Physiology duties as and when required.
• To delegate appropriately skilled staff to work areas as service demands.

Essential

• Minimum of 2 years' experience working at Band 6 level, primarily in Echocardiography
• At least 1 years’ experience independently reporting Transthoracic Echocardiograms (TTEs) following full BSE accreditation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience using hospital IT systems, such as PAS, NIECR, and cardiology databases/reporting systems.

Qualifications

• BSc in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent qualification
• Registered with RCCP or ACHCS
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) at postgraduate level, including current full BSE Adult Echocardiography accreditation
• Valid Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification obtained within the previous 24 months
