Job Role: Clerical Officer (Band 2)

MPA are recruiting for a Clerical Officer for a vacant role in a hospital setting within the Belfast area.

The post holder will be required to carry out any administrative duties required within the department. This will include word processing, general office duties and other responsibilities as outlined below.

Location - Belfast

Hours of Work - 37.5 hours per week - Mon - Friday 9am - 5pm

Pay rate -£9.50

What the role entails:

  • Welcoming clients and putting them at ease.
  • Monitoring of Waiting Area and notifying clinical staff of clients

still waiting after their appointment time.

  • Operating switchboard.
  • Dealing with telephone and personal inquiries at reception in a

sensitive and confidential manner.

  • Taking, recording and relaying of messages accurately.
  • Collating, monitoring, and booking of clinical appointments using PARIS and Outlook for clinical staff on a daily basis.
  • Typing of appointment letters, reports and miscellaneous documents.
  • Liaising with Estate Services in relation to job requests.

Essential Criteria:

Essential Criteria.

  • Four GCSE’s (Grade C or above) to include English Language or equivalent qualifications

OR

One year’s clerical experience

OR

NVQ Level 2 in administration.

OR

OR

Can demonstrate a capable level of ability

Desirable Criteria

  • Use of Microsoft Office software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access & Outlook.

  • Experience of PARIS client information system.
