The Role

As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of residents by providing high-quality, person-centred care in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver compassionate, resident-focused care while promoting dignity, respect, and independence.
  • Assist residents with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and feeding where required.
  • Support residents' emotional wellbeing through meaningful interaction and companionship.
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents' health, wellbeing, or behaviour to nursing staff.
  • Promote residents' participation in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities.
  • Accompany residents to appointments and outings when required.
  • Ensure residents are comfortable, well-presented, and have access to necessary personal aids such as hearing aids, dentures, and glasses.
  • Maintain accurate communication with nursing staff regarding incidents, concerns, compliments, or complaints.
  • Adhere to all Apex Housing policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including RQIA requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents.

Essential Criteria

Option 1

  • QCF/NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Currently registered with NISCC, or willing to achieve registration within six months if new to the sector.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Access NI check.

OR

Option 2

  • Minimum of 6 months' experience in a formal care or support setting working with vulnerable adults (paid or voluntary).
  • Commitment to completing QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care.
  • Currently registered with NISCC, or willing to achieve registration within six months if new to the sector.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Access NI check.
