Care Assistant- Flexible Ad Hoc and Last-Minute shifts

We are currently recruiting compassionate, reliable and flexible Care Assistants who are available to provide last-minute and urgent shift cover across a range of healthcare settings.
This role is offered on an ad hoc basis, giving you the freedom to choose which shifts you would like to accept. It is ideal for someone who already works full-time, works a shift pattern, or is looking to earn additional income while maintaining control over their availability.
There is no obligation to accept every shift. You can select the shifts that suit your schedule.

Key Responsibilities
As a Care Assistant, you will work under the guidance of nursing staff to support patients with their daily needs and ensure care is delivered safely, respectfully and in a person-centred manner.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and feeding
- Supporting patient mobility and safe movement around the facility
- Monitoring and recording vital signs, such as temperature, pulse and respiration
- Encouraging independence by supporting patients with daily activities
- Communicating effectively with patients, families and the wider care team
- Providing emotional support and companionship
- Maintaining cleanliness and safety within patient areas
- Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals and refreshments
- Following infection control procedures and safeguarding policies
- Accurately updating patient records under supervision
- Supporting clinical tasks where trained and appropriately delegated
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of six months’ paid experience in a care setting within the last five years
- NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in Health and Social Care is preferred
- A caring, empathetic and patient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A high level of reliability and professionalism
- Flexibility to consider short-notice or urgent shifts
- Right to work in the UK
- Current NISCC registration
