Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Adult Learning Disability Team 

• Location: Knockbracken Healthcare Park, Saintfield Road, Belfast
• Start Date: August 2026
• Contract: Until the end of March 2027
• Hours: Full-time preferred (flexible hours can be negotiated)

We're recruiting  for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join an Adult Community Learning Disability Team.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions for adults with learning disabilities, while working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a specialist community caseload
•  Deliver evidence-based, person-centred occupational therapy interventions
• Work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team
•  Supervise and support junior staff
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
• Participate in interagency working to achieve the best outcomes for service users

Essential Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy (WFOT-recognised)
• HCPC registration
•  Minimum of 2 years' post-graduate OT experience
• At least 12 months' experience working with adults or children with a learning disability
•  Strong knowledge of occupational therapy assessment, intervention, and evaluation for adults with learning disabilities
•  Understanding of housing adaptations, specialist equipment, 24-hour postural management, and the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO)
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
• Previous staff supervision experience is desirable
