Occupational Therapist – Learning Disability Care Management
MPA Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of for an Occupational Therapist to join the Learning Disability Care Management Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of adults with a learning disability by supporting them to achieve greater independence, engage in meaningful occupations and access the right living environments. Working as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in assessment, intervention and care planning while helping individuals achieve positive outcomes within their communities.
The Role
As a Band 7 Occupational Therapist, you will:
- Manage a specialist caseload of adults with a learning disability across a variety of community settings.
- Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and evidence-based interventions.
- Support individuals to maximise independence through functional assessments, sensory integration, environmental adaptations and specialist equipment provision.
- Work collaboratively with the Care Management Team to identify suitable community placements and housing solutions.
- Develop person-centred care plans in partnership with service users, families, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Provide specialist advice, clinical leadership and support to colleagues while contributing to service development and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Applicants should have:
- A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy recognised by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT).
- Current HCPC registration.
- A minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience, including at least 2 years working with adults or children with a learning disability.
- Postgraduate training relevant to learning disability practice, such as sensory integration, postural management or housing adaptations.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills.
- Experience supervising staff and supporting service development.
