Job Title: Senior Officer - 3552

On behalf of our Client, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, MPA Recruitment welcomes suitable applications for the role of Senior Officer in the Belfast area.

Location: Adelaide Street, Belfast

Hours of work: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday: 09.00am to 5pm)

Salary range: £14.91

Your Duties:

• Investigate and research topics when requested, to support the development or amendment of strategies, policies/procedures, and business cases.

• Assist with gathering information and drafting reports and management responses e.g. Assembly Questions, Freedom of Information requests, Performance Review Group Papers, Executive Team Papers and Board Papers.

• Provide administrative support for team meetings, project boards, and any other meetings, for workshops for the unit as required, including preparation of arrangements, distribution of agendas, programmes, minutes, timetables and follow-up actions.

• Use IT systems and software to organise, evaluate and communicate information effectively, which may also include preparing and delivering presentations.

• Assist with establishing, implementing and maintaining a variety of databases, project management registers, and any IT based administrative systems.

• Assist in budget setting and management by processing purchase orders, using finance and payments systems as required, and preparing exceptional payments for approval - in line with Standing Orders and relevant policies and procedures.

• Recording expenditure and updating cost monitors.

• Verification of invoices.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Possess a degree or equivalent qualification.

OR

• Hold a BTEC Higher Cert/Diploma or equivalent qualification.

OR

• Can demonstrate at least two years of relevant experience.

AND

• Continued professional development including attainment of relevant learning/qualifications.

Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 1 year of experience in at least 3 of the following areas:

• Effective written communication skills, including drafting papers, briefings, correspondence or similar.

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and/or external stakeholders resulting in positive outcomes.

• Managing workload to meet strict deadlines in the context of various competing priorities, whilst maintaining accuracy in work outputs.

• Experience of implementing policies, procedures or strategy that demonstrably relate to sustaining a tenancy and/or preventing homelessness in an operational environment.

OR

• Developing/reviewing policy, procedures or strategy that have implications for tenancy sustainment and/or homelessness prevention in a business support role.

• Experience in managing, analysing, and monitoring complex business information.

Desirable:

• Experience of using MS Excel is strongly desirable.

• Experience of duties or responsibilities in relation to finance tasks or systems is desirable e.g. processing payments or invoices, maintaining expenditure records etc.

• A Basic Access NI Check is Required at a cost of £16.
