MPA Belfast are recruiting for a part-time Youth Intervention Project Co-ordinator for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, based between Antrim and Newtownabbey locations.


Essential Criteria:

Communicative English, both verbal and written

A minimum of 2 years’ experience working regularly with young people in an informal environment e.g. youth club or group work with young people (Applicants must be able to demonstrate the frequency and type of experience gained).

Must have access to a form of transport, which will permit the carrying out of all the duties of the post in full.

Successful applicants must be prepared to undergo an Access NI check


The Job Role:

Take responsibility for the co-ordination and delivery of youth intervention in allocated areas across Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough.

Ensure effective administration of the youth intervention programme.

Work directly with facilitators and Assistant Youth Support Workers to provide an appropriate programme of activities in all areas.

Ensure effective financial management of the scheme including obtaining quotations and raising purchase orders.

Assist in the development of relationships within the community.

Support Assistant Youth Support Workers in ensuring that young people work effectively in groups.

Support Assistant Youth Support Workers in encouraging young people to broaden their horizons and be active citizens.

Additional Information:

16 hours per week for 11 weeks, commencing 4th June 2018, 6pm – 10pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Saturday.

Rate of pay: £12.37 p/hour
