Job: Web Publisher

On behalf of our public sector Client based in the Greater Belfast area, MPA recruitment welcome suitable applications for the role of a Web Publisher.

Web Publishers in are responsible for the day-to-day running of the various websites and intranet, including the publication, creation, development, performance and evaluation of content for the sites. You will work closely with staff throughout the Communications Office to ensure the timely publication, development and accuracy of content.

Type: Temporary

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months with the possibility of an extension

Location: Greater Belfast

Salary: £30,280 per annum

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, (Flexible working hours between 8am - 6pm)

The main duties and responsibilities of the role:

  • Publishing and administration of the content management system used on the main website - including the monitoring of user access accounts.

  • Publishing and administration of content management system used on the intranet including the monitoring of user access accounts.

  • Publishing and administration of the WordPress based micro-sites - including some design, maintenance and monitoring of user access accounts.

  • Providing web publishing training and guidance to colleagues throughout the organisation on the different content management systems employed by the Office.

  • Production/modification of graphics and videos (using appropriate software such as the Adobe suite of products) for use on the various websites, social media campaigns, promotional material etc.

  • Producing video clips.

  • Answering queries from members of the media and escalating when necessary.

  • Provide support for Communications Officers and Internal Communications Officer. This can include administrative support, assistance with media/advertising campaigns, assistance with creation of graphics/videos etc.

Criteria:

Essential:

Applicants for the post must by the closing date for application:

1. At least a primary degree, minimum 2.2 classification, in any subject. Applications will be considered from applicants with formal qualifications of an equivalent or higher standard to those stated.

AND

2. At least two years’ experience in the criteria (a) to (e) below

OR

3. GCSE/GCE ‘O’ level passes at grades A to C in four subjects, other than English language, plus a GCSE/GCE ‘O’ level pass at grade A or A* in English language.

Applications will be considered from applicants with relevant formal qualifications of an equivalent or higher standard to those stated.

AND

4. Four years’ experience in the criteria (a) to (e) below

  • Publishing and managing content on websites using content management systems similar to Episerver, Umbraco and WordPress.

  • Using effective oral and written communications skills to accurately and clearly explain complex or detailed information to team members, members of the public, customers and managers in line with organisational policies and procedures.

  • Planning and organising workload using own initiative to deliver high quality work to deadlines.

  • Contributing to the planning, allocation, monitoring, evaluation and control of resources e.g. people, finances.

  • Effectively using Microsoft Office to manage information, create documents and assist in providing a quality service to customers.
