MPA Ballymena is proud to partner with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust (NHSCT) to recruit a dedicated Decontamination Technician for the Hospital Sterile Services Department (HSDU) at Antrim Area Hospital. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare by ensuring that essential medical equipment and supplies are properly decontaminated and sterile for clinical use.

The successful candidate will receive relevant, extensive training to assist in the decontamination process and will be responsible for the safe handling of decontamination equipment and sterile supplies. As part of a supportive team, you’ll be contributing directly to the clinical care of patients.

Duties will include

• Assist with distribution of sterile and clean supplies to theatre, wards and other department
• Undertake operation of equipment e.g. Washer disinfectors and sterilisers
• Be receptive to training and development
• Contribute to an effective, motivated and competent workforce and comply with high quality standards
• Comply with current systems for recording, collation, monitoring and feedback of appropriate information
• Monitor and control Production within HSDU, ensuring that all priority requests and contractual turnaround times are adhered to.
• Ensure that both the Trust & Departmental Values and Behaviours are adhered to at all times by all members of staff within the HSDU Department.

Hours and Pay

• Monday -Friday 
• Shift patterns -07:00-15:00/ 12:00-20:00
• £12.21 Weekly Pay
• Overtime available - £18.32
• Holiday Fund
