Team Leader – Night Awake
£14.89 per hour
36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts, including weekends and public holidays)

MPA Recruitment is proud to support The Cedar Foundation in recruiting a dedicated Night Awake Team Leader for their Johnston Way service in Lisburn. This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and experienced professional to take the next step in their social care career.

About the Service:

Johnston Way is an Intensive Support Service based in North Lisburn, providing high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. Working in partnership with Woven Housing Association and South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, the service enables individuals to live independently in their own homes within a safe, supportive environment. The site consists of two modern bungalows housing up to eight people, complete with communal areas, en suite bedrooms, and a private garden space.

The Role:

As Team Leader, you will play a vital leadership role within the service, supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day delivery of quality care under the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Framework. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of person-centred care plans and risk assessments
  • Supervising, mentoring, and motivating the Support Team
  • Delivering direct care and modelling best practices
  • Assisting with budget and resource management
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance in line with the Domiciliary Care Agencies Regulations (NI) 2007 and Minimum Standards

This role requires flexibility to meet the needs of a 24/7 care environment.

Essential Criteria:

Applicants must meet at least one of the following qualification pathways:

  • Social Work qualification and NISCC registration (or eligibility)
  • Registered Nurse (NMC)
  • Occupational Therapist (HCPC registered)
  • Relevant Degree (e.g., Psychology, Social Care) with NISCC registration (or eligibility)
  • Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (or equivalent) and NISCC registration (or eligibility)

In addition, candidates must have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a social care setting
  • A sound knowledge of supporting people with learning disabilities
  • Experience in supporting individuals with behaviours that challenge
  • Strong communication and IT skills
