MPA Recruitment has been appointed by a successful and growing energy business to source a Systems Software Developer to join their team in Letterkenny. The business has a presence across nine European countries working with trading counterparties ranging from utilities and generators to trading houses and energy exchanges. This role will largely be responsible for providing operational and project development services to the organisation across a range of technologies and platforms.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, coding, testing and deployment of systems while working closely with the business team to come up with solutions to recurring problems. You will play a role in delivering incremental system developments and changes while owning, tracking, analysing and resolving urgent production incidents and change requests. You will participate in companywide initiatives and projects as a development resource; you will also act as the main point of contact for immediate or urgent intraday business requests which require development expertise.

You will be degree qualified with programming experience in one or more of scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, Python); MySQL; VBA; .NET technologies; or Windows system administration. You will have strong working knowledge and experience with databases (preferably MySQL), including the writing and optimising of stored procedures, triggers etc. You will have experience using at least one source control software system (e.g. ClearCase, Subversion, BitBucket etc) and experience of Cloud Services such as AWS/Azure/Google Cloud/OpenStack.
