Job Role: Support Workers (Permanent)

We are pleased to be recruiting Permanent Full Time Support Workers for day & night duties for our client.

We are looking for support staff in Downpatrick that can work a shift pattern in line with their current staff.

Our clients service delivers high quality support to young people aged (16 - 21) to build the skills and confidence to maintain their own homes. Young people stay with our client for up to 2 years before moving on to their own tenancy in the community.

Hours: 36 Hours per week

Location: Downpatrick

Rate of Pay: £18,285 per annum & pension at 4% of Salary

What the role entails:

  • Ensure all young people are cared for by appropriate staff. Workers will participate in shift patterns that meet the needs of the young people.
  • To develop purposeful and nurturing relationships with young people working with compassion and resilience in what can be a challenging environment

  • To support young people to complete the tasks identified in their support plans
  • Communicate promptly and effectively with PSNI, Emergency Duty Social Worker, Emergency Services, on call manager and family/children’s homes were appropriate
  • Undertake any other duties as required

Essential Criteria:

  • 6 Months’ experience (paid or voluntary) of supporting people in a caring role as an employee, volunteer or carer.
  • Understanding and knowledge of homelessness, mental health and substance use.
  • Ability to practice in line with the clients ethos and values.
