Support Assistant (Days or Nights)

£12.75 per hour
Permanent Contracts available: 12, 18, 24 & 36 hours per week (7-day cover including evenings & weekends)

MPA Recruitment is delighted to support The Cedar Foundation in the recruitment of Support Assistants for permanent roles at their Lisburn service. About the Service:

Johnston Way in North Lisburn is a Registered Domiciliary Care Agency and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) service. It consists of two purpose-built dwellings, each home to four people, offering 24-hour person-centred support for individuals with learning disabilities and associated needs.

The Role:

As a Support Assistant, you will work as part of a close-knit team providing high-quality care and support tailored to each individual. Key duties include:

  • Supporting service users with daily living activities
  • Facilitating personal care and meeting support needs
  • Encouraging participation in a wide range of activities
  • Promoting inclusion and independence

Support Assistants must be flexible, with availability to work evenings, weekends, unsociable hours, and public holidays on a rotational basis

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in a care or support role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including basic numeracy)
  • Working knowledge of the needs of individuals with learning disabilities
  • Understanding of behaviours that challenge and how to support them effectively
