Speciality Doctor, General Adults Psychiatry - Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team

MPA Recruitment has been appointed by the NHS in Northern Ireland to source a Speciality Doctor in General Adults Psychiatry to join their team in The Western Health and Social Care Trust.

As the Speciality Doctor in General Adults Psychiatry, you will provide medical assessments and treatment under the supervision of the consultant and work with colleagues as part of multidisciplinary teams (involved in Acute Crisis Team) providing home-based treatment - assessment and management of patients in their home environment as necessary and inpatient treatment to the adult population in the WHSCT area; participate fully in multidisciplinary reviews, risk assessments and case discussions concerning patients under the care of the team; be encouraged to develop your special interests in psychiatry and obtain further qualifications as appropriate; participate actively in clinical audits; participate in training undergraduate students and training grade doctors, as well as contributing to teaching and training other disciplines as required; participate in the Trust’s appraisal process; participate fully in the regular educational programmes; deputise as far as is practicable for absent colleagues the same or other grades not lower than the staff grade.

The Supervising Consultant Psychiatrist will offer weekly clinical and educational supervision, a senior colleague or nominated deputy-on call consultant will be readily available for expert advice and guidance on a 24-hour basis to the staff grade doctor.

The qualify for this post, you will need:

  • Full Registration or Eligibility for full registered with GMC, London
  • A minimum of 4 years’ full-time postgraduate training (or it’s equivalent gained on part time / flexible basis), at least 2 of which will be in a speciality training programme
  • Current full driving license and access to a car
