MPA Belfast are excited to be assisting with the recruitment of Social Care Staff for Children’s Residential Homes.

With a new small bedded Children’s home being opened in the Downpatrick area from next month, and as a contracted supplier, we are looking for the following experienced Social Care Staff to complete part time or full time hours on a block booking basis.

There will be both day shifts and night duties available, to accommodate staff. Shifts are going to be around 8.5hours each. Given the nature of the unit, a degree of flexibility would be expected occasionally

Immediate starts are available once background checks are completed.

Pay Rate:

  • Band 3 Support Worker -£10.09ph - £17.56ph dependent on shift worked
  • Band 4 Support Worker - £11.20ph - £17.91ph dependent on shift worked
  • Band 5 Social Worker - £12.74ph - £20.38ph dependent on shift worked
  • Band 6 Social Worker - £16.04ph - £25.66ph dependent on shift worked

What the role entails (this is not a limited guide):

  • To work with 2 vulnerable children/ young people on a one to one or group basis, using a variety of interventions, to identify needs and to achieve positive outcomes
  • To attend specialised training to enable staff to give the best possible support to the young people.
  • To work co-operatively with children’s services, health agencies and other community based services, to provide the most effective service for the children/young people and carers /families.
  • To take responsibility for complex cases/situations presenting within the service
  • To apply safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Responsible for the management of own workload
  • Support workers are to follow the direction of the Social Worker and senior team to assist with the above duties

Essential Criteria:

  • For Social Workers -Degree in Social Work or recognised equivalent Band 5 staff will be considered as training can be given and assistance with AYE
  • For Support Workers -previous 6-12 months paid experience in a relevant or similar environment
  • Willingness to attend further training such as Sexually harmful Behaviour Training and Trauma training
  • Experience dealing with complex cases and previous trauma experience
  • Registered with NISCC
  • Mandatory training completed within the last 12 months or willingness to do inhouse training
  • Must complete Enhanced Access NI check
