MPA Recruitment has been appointed by a leading organisation in Qatar to source a Senior Project Manager specialising in roads and highways projects. This is a management level position at the centre of a challenging program of major infrastructure works.
You will be involved in several projects of a very large scale and have a value of up to £1bn each. These projects are typically multi-lane, dual carriageway with grade separated interchanges. They will include the provision of the major trunk utility services, typically underground including drainage, power, water reticulation, sewerage, treated sewage effluent (TSE), telecommunication services, and others.
You will be required to lead and coordinate highway projects in Qatar pertaining to the delivery of the Expressway Program for Qatar. The position is responsible to manage all aspects of the project planning, including scheduling, budgeting, reporting, HSE, and the quality.
You will have direct responsibility for the delivery of satisfactory highway projects in terms of time, cost, quality and safety whilst supervising all stages of the implementation of highway, tunnels and bridges projects to ensure compliance with all relevant specifications. You will minimize impacts on road users and public in all phases of the project. You will monitor and review the activities of the supervision consultant and contractors during the implementation of projects related to highways to reach the highest professional standards and adopt best practice methods in receipt of projects. You will manage supervision consultants and the contractors during the implementation of the projects, including the adoption of applications for payment and monitor the work program and the verification of claims for extension of time and additional cost.
You will have substantial experience on major highway or infrastructure projects and hold a Project Management Qualification (PMP) or equivalent. You will have proven ability to perform in a management capacity and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project. You will have an in-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles as well as experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management.
