LEADING THE TEAM
To motivate all staff within the homes and lead by example.
To provide effective, fair leadership for all staff.
To coach and support Care and Domestic staff, supervise their day to day work and mange their work performance by way of regular one to one meetings.
Take the lead in welcoming and inducting new employees into the home and ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the job required them.
To provide effective management of the home, ensuring at all times the highest achievable standards of care are delivered to residents.
To work closely with the manager at all times, ensuring that the manager is informed of any changes to residents, staff and the environment.
To take part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of all care delivered to the residents.
CARE AND SUPPORT OF OUR RESIDENTS
Ensure the wellbeing and safety of all residents within the home, whilst on shift, ensuring that care is delivered as per the care plan.
Develop and update individual care/support plans in line with guidance and standards.
Comply with regulations and policies involving the ordering, storing, administration and disposal of medications.
To liaise closely with and build a sound professional working relationships with outside agencies / other professionals who visit the home.
Undertake the duties of a carer as and when required.
Spend time with our residents and complete key worker reports as required.
Adhere to the regulations of the NI Social Care Council.
Provide night time duty sleep in as required.
Provide cover for other Senior Carers and deputise for the Home Manager as required.
Maintain effective administration of information, to include effective reporting and record keeping.
Set out rotas for the home and complete duty sheets on a weekly basis
Ensure the confidentiality of the residents and their affairs and that the details are not transmitted in any way without the express permission of the resident.
Schedule and attend Senior staff and full staff meetings, retaining a record and reporting any relevant matters to the Home Manager

Keep up to date with issues that affect the residents and be aware at all times of services within the area.
FOLLOW ALL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES IN RELATION TO THE
Familiarise yourself with company policies and procedures which you
will be provided with at the start of your employment and during your
induction period and induction training.

NVQ Level 2 in a relevant subject i.e. Care
Exceptional candidates with 5 years experience, without an NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, should also apply
A minimum of 2 years experience working in a care/support environment
Demonstrate experience in creating and maintaining care and support plans
Be able to verbally communicate in the English Language with the client group.
Be registered, or be prepared to register, with the NI Social Care Council at the time of taking up an offer of employment.
Able to provide services to meet the needs of the residents in line with care/support plans.
Able to communicate verbally in a clear, concise and succinct manner.
Clear and concise written skills
Ability to listen in an open and reflective manner
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with external agencies.
Be caring and sensitive to the needs of others
Ability to maintain all aspects of confidentiality and the ability to comply with all legislative requirements in relation to service users and staff.
Ability to work to a 7 day rota pattern.
Able to work flexible work patterns which will include night and weekend cover.
Ability to cover on-call and emergency situations.
NVQ 3 in Care or working towards award
Experience in managing, leading and motivating a team
Experience in administration of medication
Have sound computer/IT skills including knowledge of email and word processing
Experience in Dementia Care
