MPA Recruitment has been appointed by a leading organisation in Qatar to source a Road Safety Audit Specialist specialising in roads and highways projects. The position is part of the Expressway team involved in the delivery of the multi-billion Qatari Riyal Expressway Program for Qatar. The Expressway Program involves the design and construction of major road and infrastructure projects for the strategic road network of Qatar.
All projects are of a very large scale, and have a value of up to several billion Qatari riyals each. Projects are typically multi-lane, dual carriageway with grade separated interchanges. The projects include the provision of the major trunk utility services, typically underground including: drainage, power, water reticulation, sewerage, treated sewage effluent (TSE), telecommunication services, and others. The role is required to manage all the Road Safety matters pertaining to the delivery of the multi-billion Qatari Riyal Expressway Program for Qatar.
You will be responsible for undertaking and reviewing Road Safety Audits from Stage 1 to Stage 4, inputs into standards/specifications and providing advice on design issues. You role will require you to review the safety, traffic and environmental management plan. You will also monitor the closure of traffic lanes and provide advice on issuing completion and provisional completion certificates. You will undertake the role of lead contact to senior management for advice and recommendations regarding Road Safety related issues. Moreover you will provide technical support and advice to the Head of Engineering Support, and act independently as may be required under certain circumstances.
You must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience with road safety audits, with experience in the planning implementation and auditing of temporary and permanent road works to recognised international standards. Detailed knowledge of traffic control devices such as temporary safety barriers, speed control/speed management measures, traffic signage, road furniture, road markings, pedestrian and cycle crossing measures, as well as infrastructure requirements for traffic signals and roundabouts.
