JOB SUMMARY

To provide quality physiotherapy service with programmes of care to meet each individual patient’s specific needs across the Trust supporting the rotational teams.

To perform physio-therapeutic assessments of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, and determine accurate clinical diagnosis of patients. To undertake assessment, diagnosis and formulation of the physiotherapy aspect of treatment plans.

To hold responsibility for own caseload, working with regular supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular review of work and record keeping, formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, case conferences. Access to advice and support from a senior physiotherapist is available, clinical work is routinely evaluated.

To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further the team’s clinical practice within each rotation.

Communications

Use a range of communication tools to communicate complex information effectively with patients re diagnosis and prognosis along side providing encouragement and motivation. This includes patients who have difficulties in communication and understanding e.g. dysphasia, deafness, cognitive impairment, and where English is not the first language.Demonstrate the ability to discuss sensitive information i.e. deal sensitively with families who have a high level of anxiety e.g. accepting rehabilitation versus care needsCommunicate with patients/carers to gain consent to treatment and to inform/agree expected treatment outcomes.Ensure effective communication with all members of multi disciplinary teams.

Efficiently maintain patient notes, input to collection of statistical data and provide relevant statistics as required .

Qualifications/Experience:

BSc/Diploma in PhysiotherapyHealth & Care Professions Council (HCPC) RegistrationFull current driving licence with access to a car.Must be willing to complete an access ni checkMust complete Manual Handling course

Hours of Work:Full time Monday-Friday 9am-5pmTemporary Ongoing
