MPA Belfast are recruiting for 4 x Pharmacy Undergraduate Summer Students, for the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, 2 based in the Mater Hospital and 2 based at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

 

Essential Criteria:

Communicative English, both verbal and written

Be currently undertaking a UK pharmacy degree.

Excellent communication skills and telephone skills

Ability to successfully carry out allocated tasks on own initiative

Ability to work as part of a team with other grades of staff

Ability to comprehend simple principles underlying tasks

 

Desirable Criteria:

Currently in 3rd year

Experience in pharmaceutical services

 

The Job Description:

Assisting with the dispensing of medicines to wards

Load pharmacy robot

Provision of ward top-ups.

Participate in preparation of Emergency boxes.

Assist in dispensary receptionist duties to include receiving work, logging details of work and its progress through the dispensary and contacting wards and departments.

Telephone duties including recording of messages and redirecting incoming calls on telephone system.

To conduct oneself in an appropriate manner and maintain required standards of appearance and dress.

Stock management including stock rotation and expiry date checks

At all times provide a caring service and to treat those with whom they come into contact in a courteous and respectful manner.

Demonstrate their commitment by their regular attendance and the efficient completion of all tasks allocated to them.

Comply with the Trust’s Smoke Free Policy.

Carry out their duties and responsibilities in compliance with the Health and Safety Policies and Statutory Regulations.

Adhere to Equality and Good Relations duties throughout the course of their employment.

Ensure the ongoing confidence of the public in-service provision.

Maintain high standards of personal accountability.

Comply with the HPSS Code of Conduct.

Additional Information:

Hours of work: to be arranged

Rate of pay: £7.83 p/h

Temporary ongoing basis for 3 months, with an immediate start

Holiday fund accrued from the first day of employment with MPA
