Job Description
MPA Recruitment have been appointed to recruit a Band 5 Information Analyst located in Belfast.
This post is initially for six months with possible extension. The hours of work will be 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hrs/wk).
Salary: £11.66 /hour
The post holder will play a key role with the Information Department by ensuring the accessibility of reliable, up to date information and business intelligence through an information portal, intranet and other appropriate tools. The post-holder will support the provision of quality information to a range of internal and external stakeholders and provision of specialist advice in the use of information and business intelligence systems and in the extraction, analysis and interpretation and presentation of data.
The post-holder will be involved in prioritisation, definition an interpretation of service user requirements, expert analysis, user support, team working skills and system design and development opportunities.
The post holder will operate as part of a team reporting to a number of Information Analysts. In addition, members of the team will be encouraged to work flexibly so that skills transfer can take place to ensure each staff member has the full understanding and knowledge of systems and processes.
Essential Criteria
A degree in ICT Discipline, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Information Management or related areas of information and business intelligence with one years quantifiable experience within a discipline relevant to information analysis or business intelligence which includes an in-depth working knowledge of information production, report writing or inferential statistics.

5 years relevant experience and quantifiable experience within a discipline relevant to information production, report writing or inferential statistics.Ability to extract data from complex data-sets and number of different software systems using analysis and query tools. Knowledge and experience of SQL, database structures and use of Power BI or other Business Intelligence software is a requirement.Ability to analyse, interpret and present complex statistical information from a range of systems/sources.A working knowledge of and experience of Microsoft Office packages specifically the creation and manipulation of Access databases and Excel Pivot tables; knowledge of web based applications.
Desirable Criteria
Knowledge and understanding of the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) for geographical display of information.
