Finance Officer

Location: Belfast city centre
Salary: £15.33 per hour
Hours: 37.5 per week
Contract: Full-time, Temporary

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Officer to join us and work with our public sector client. In this dynamic role, you’ll assist in the preparation of financial statements, coordinate finance functions, and support financial planning processes.

Working at the heart of healthcare finance, you will play a key part in delivering accurate financial information that supports planning, governance, and service improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and control processes
• Support senior finance staff with ad hoc reports and financial queries
• Help develop and maintain financial systems and processes
• Maintain accurate financial records to support audit requirements
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure financial clarity and compliance
• Ensure all work aligns with SPPG's commitment to quality and value for public services

Essential Criteria

• A university degree or relevant professional qualification and 1 year’s recent finance experience,
  OR
  3 years’ recent finance experience in a finance department
• Hold a full UK driving licence and access to a car (this may be waived for applicants whose disability prohibits driving)
• Demonstrated knowledge of financial management systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
• Excellent communication skills, initiative, and workload planning ability
