Finance Officer

Job description

MPA Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Finance Officer for our Public Sector client. This is an immediate start for the right candidate once all checks are completed.

The job role consists of assisting the senior finance manager in providing a range of business support services to individual assistant directors, operational managers, clinicians and budget manager in order to achieve effective financial management and support the drive for continuous improvement in service delivery.

•Support the senior finance manager in maintaining effective financial control within and across directorates.

•Assist with commissioner liaison in relation to the understanding of service and budget agreements and contract variations relevant to the directorates.

•Assist in the completion of consolidated and corporate Trust reporting both internally and externally.

•Assist with the annual budget setting process, within agreed guidelines and timetables.

•Assist in the development of cash releasing efficiency plans, recovery plans and contingency plans for the directorate.

•Support the senior finance manager in the early identification of threats to the financial stability, highlighting risks within the directorate and agreeing rectification measures to ensure breakeven is achieved.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Accountant with 3 years suitable experience, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills due to the diverse range of stakeholders. Due to the nature of the post a working knowledge of financial systems and Microsoft office is also essential to utilise them to there full potential.
