MPA Recruitment are working in partnership with their private client to recruit a Finance Manager for a full-time, temporary position in the Belfast area. 


  • Management and Processing of the monthly payroll by set dates, including liaising with HR and staff on payroll related matters and queries, issue of required statements, monthly payroll folder reports and checks and processing of monthly payments for HM Revenue & Customs
  • Processing of pension scheme contributions
  • Supervising operational output, approach to work and attendance of the Finance Officer in the Belfast office, on a daily basis
  • Communicating closely with the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Manager
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and other financial reports for review for use by multiple users (Board, statutory funders, internal project services, internal support departments), including reference to KPIs and variances
  • Preparing funder returns and responding to funding queries
  • Participation in the preparation for the annual audit process and liaising with the external auditors
  • Managing the accounts receivable function, including preparing claims for funding and arrears monitoring
  • Managing the petty cash functionManaging the accounts payable function

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience, including management accounts and payroll
  • Extensive experience using accounting and payroll software packages in addition to advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in the homeless services / supported housing or a related sector, including funder reporting requirements
  • Ability to balance multiple competing work demands, working to tight deadlinesHighly accurate / detail focus
  • Experience monitoring the quality of work of and development of assigned staff.
