Job Role: Equipment Technician

We are recruiting a Equipment Technician to join the MPA team for our public service client. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, modification, maintenance, and repair of the clients breathing apparatus, plant and operational equipment ensuring they are fully operational to manufacturers specifications including the completion of all associated documentation, both written and electronic so there is a 24-hour availability of the vehicles.

Location - Service Support Centre- Belfast

Hours of Work -36.25 hours per week. Mon - Fri (8:00am -400 pm)

Salary £13.22 PH

What the role entails:

To contribute as an integral member of the Fleet & Engineering team to the provision of a fully operation compliment of equipment to support the vision and mission of client outlined below:

To be responsible for the inspection, servicing, modification, maintenance, and repair of clients breathing apparatus, plant and operational equipment ensuring they are fully operational to manufacturers specifications including the completion of all associated documentation, both written and electronic so there is a 24 hour availability of the vehicles.

To assist all other trades within Fleet & Engineering services where their skill set is more applicable to affect that repair, including all operational vehicles.

To service, inspect, maintain, fault-find and repair all clean air equipment including Breathing Apparatus ancillary equipment, cylinders, breathing air compressors & oxygen booster pumps to the required EN, Pressure Safety Systems Regulations and any other health & safety standards.

To inspect, maintain, fault-find and repair gas detection monitors, gas and chemical protection suits including powered respirator type, resuscitators, thermal image cameras and defibrillators to manufacturers and/or clients standards.

To inspect, maintain, fault-find and repair to all rescue equipment used by the client , including high and low pressure hydraulic & electrical rescue systems using specialist test equipment, to comply with manufacturer or, where applicable clients standards. This is to include all means of generating power and all tools utilised.

To ensure that all electrical equipment is tested and complies with relevant legislation and certify compliance.

To inspect, maintain, fault-find and repair all pneumatic equipment, including air lifting units and controllers to manufacturers and/or fire service standards.

To inspect, maintain, fault-find and repair all mechanical equipment, including ladders, working height kits, work restraint systems to manufacturers and/or clients standards
