Embedded Solutions Architect (Team Lead)

MPA Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading medical device company who is paving the way with breakthrough products within this space. We are currently recruiting a Solutions Architect (Embedded) to join their team remotely.

They are looking for a Solutions Architect (Team Lead) to join the Product Development Team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop software applications, drivers, and other components for using with and in their products by analyzing customer and market demands, and proposing solutions. This will include a wide variety of development projects, such as product configuration and demonstration tools, device drivers, components, and other specialized applications. The ideal candidate will be able to independently handle a design project from concept through to release, including interaction with all project stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Architect and develop their embedded software systems.

  • Establish best practices for development, test, and deployment, including End to End systems verification testing.

  • Work with cloud teams to drive data collection and OTA updates.

  • Collaborate with the Quality Officer, Manufacturing and Product Management on complaint handling, design activities, and manufacturing work.

  • Working with the product design team to document and implement requirements.

  • Configure, design and maintain existing applications including bug fixes and feature enhancements

Your notable qualifications will include:

  • Minimum 10 years experience in firmware, embedded device SW application programming and design.

  • Strong, proven expertise in image processing and computer vision.

  • Strong embedded firmware & RTOS (e.g. Linux), expertise in Java, C++ Programming, Agile, Jira, Git.

  • Familiarity with Linux kerner and driver development.

  • Experience with version control tools (e.g. CVS, SVN, ClearCase).

  • Experience with different SDLC from possibility study to product support including software design and software testing.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Yocto project is an asset.

  • Python, C, Bitbucket.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 Quality Systems.

Salary range up to $200k for the right candidate.
