Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer

MPA have been retained by a leading private Cardiology and Diagnostic Services organization to recruit for an Echo Technologist (Cardiac Sonographer) to join their multidisciplinary team in Sarnia. The client is one of the largest diagnostic services organizations with clinics nationwide across Canada.
In this role, you will be responsible for process and testing patients for Echocardiogram, Stress Echo, Doppler, TEE and Contrast Echo. Experience or knowledge of IV Contrast is considered an asset. Full-time, part-time and casual hours available for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring patient identification, safety, and preparation are correct prior to a scan while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Observes the patient during the diagnostic procedure, making note of any symptoms or changes in vital signs, and summons medical aid when necessary.
Ensures all quality control assessments are performed as required. Takes all reasonable precautions and work in compliance with related policies, health and safety legislation, and best practices.
Follows procedures for proper equipment maintenance are completed in accordance with department standards.
Ensures equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner.
Prepares/organizes reports as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Criteria
1 - 5 years of related experience.
ARDMS or CARDUP certified (Registration with CMRTO is required).
Current CPR certificate.
Ability to perform Echocardiograms on various machines (Primarily Philips iE33, GE Vivid s6, GE Vivid E9).
The ability to perform Stress and Contrast Echocardiograms is an asset.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
