MPA have been appointed by a leading prevention medicine provider in Calgary to recruit for a Registered Dietitian to join their team. The client is a collaborative practice which specialises within providing in depth prevention, cosmetic and healthcare services.
In this role, you will be responsible for comprehensive nutrition assessments, managing care plans, providing high quality personalised, client-centered recommendations for nutrition. The focus upon individualised lifestyle care requires the Dietitian to hold a deep understanding of translating nutritional information into actionable lifestyle plans for their clients.
Responsibilities:
Screen all patient charts prior to appointments to understand their medical history and current health status.
Review and assess relevant laboratory data, health, and diet history to create a baseline for nutritional assessment.
Identify clients at nutrition risk through detailed assessments.
Determine potential nutrient, supplement, and drug interactions to provide safe and effective nutrition plans.
Apply comprehensive knowledge of nutrition requirements throughout the life cycle, from infancy to older adulthood.
Evaluate current research and evidence-based practice findings to determine the reliability and credibility of information.
Provide scientifically backed, evidence-based nutrition recommendations tailored to each client's unique needs.
Offer personalized counselling and coaching to support healthy lifestyle changes.
Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower clients to achieve their health and wellness goals.
Assess client progress in achieving planned lifestyle and health outcomes.
Adjust care plans as needed to ensure clients are on track to meet their goals.
Advocate on behalf of clients within the inter-professional team to ensure holistic and coordinated care.
Build trust and rapport with clients to create a supportive and motivating environment for lifestyle changes.
Work collaboratively with the team on client care and lifestyle-related projects.
Collaborate with clients, physicians, and allied health professionals to optimize and deliver comprehensive lifestyle health plans.
Maintain accurate, clear, concise, and timely documentation of client interactions and care plans.
Refer clients to other professionals when appropriate, ensuring a complete approach to health and wellness.
Contribute to team decision-making processes, providing insights based on nutritional science and client feedback.
Requirements
2 years’ experience as a clinical dietitian, preferably with a focus on lifestyle and preventative health.
Interest and knowledge in lifestyle and preventative health
Current Registration with the Alberta College of Dietitians.
