MPA Recruitment has been appointed by a leading technology company in the North West to source a Data Scientist to join their team. This role will offer an excellent opportunity to enhance professional growth and development.

You will be responsible for building best-in-class predictive models and decision tools to help address any needs the business has, with the use of state-of-the-art machine learning and statistical algorithms. You will demonstrate and maintain in-depth knowledge of the business success drivers, industry trends, regulatory issues, and the competitive marketplace. You will be required to share and communicate findings to key business stakeholders and team members, both from technical and non-technical backgrounds. You will manage projects, and their timelines, ensuring that they are delivered to the highest quality and in the allocated time. In this role, you will also be given the opportunity to help develop a team of analytics professionals, bringing them to the highest standard.
You will be required to have expertise in statistical modelling techniques such as linear regression, logistic regression, generalized linear models, tree models (CART, MART), data visualization, cluster analysis, principal components and feature creation, validation. Experience programming with SQL/Python/R/SAS and/or other relevant languages (e.g. Java, Pig, Scala) is also a necessity. It will also be very important to ensure that you are highly motivated, and always keeping up to date with any developments in the analytics field, actively seeking out new methodologies and technologies.
Ideally you will have had previous experience in both the financial services, alongside the insurance industry. Previous experience with (near) real-time decision engines and big data platforms (e.g. spark).
• Advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a quantitative discipline. Proven experience with building and deploying machine learning models in a commercial setting.
